Here are the most frequently asked questions about Avanza Residency, it’s school timetable and the methodology that we follow.

Avanza Residency Barcelona Program is designed for students and football players between 13 and 19 years of age. A typical day in the program:

WHAT ARE THE AGES ACCEPTED IN AVANZA RESIDENCY?
We accept players that are studying from Grade 7 to Grade 12. This frame initially belongs to players from 12 to 18 years old. Exceptions could be done if the academic structure plus the competition structure allows it. As an example, 18 to 19 years old players that are still in their Grade 12 studies, could be accepted.
IN WHAT LANGUAGE ARE THE TRAININGS AND CLASSES AT SCHOOL?
The medium of instruction at the school will be in English, to enable easy integration of the globally diverse program and student body.
WHAT IS THE TRAINING METHODOLOGY THAT AVANZA SPORTS FOLLOWS?
We have an own methodology created by our Sports Director based on many years of experience in different professional football clubs and sport science. Within our methodology we train every aspects related to different game situations and models, where there is a constant need for decision making.
Our goal is to develop intelligent players, who understand the game and the importance of teamwork.
WHERE IS AVANZA RESIDENCY LOCATED AND HOW CAN YOU GET THERE?
All Avanza Residency daily basis activities (School, Accommodation, Football) will be in Hamelin Laie International School Barcelona:
178-180, Ronda 8 de Març, 08390 Montgat, Barcelona, Spain
Hamelin Laie is located in a residential area completely surrounded by nature and 15 minutes away from Barcelona. The State-of-the-Art facility allows the students to have a full residential experience.
For access to Hamelin Laie from Barcelona, you can use a vehicle or come by train. Hamelin-Laie is 30 to 35 minutes away from the International Barcelona Airport and from the city. Avanza Residency will have access to our vehicles to cover any necessity.
ARE THERE WEEKS OFF DURING THE RESIDENCY? WHAT IS THE PROPOSED PLAN FOR THE WEEKS THERE ARE NO AVANZA RESIDENCY ACTIVITIES PLANNED?
Christmas and Summer will be the weeks where the Avanza Residency program will be completely closed. More precisely:
Christmas: From December 22nd 2021 to January 6th 2022.
Summer: From June 22nd 2021 to August 31st 2022.
During this period, the residence must stay empty, as the bedrooms and common areas may be used by other boarding students.
CAN I VISIT MY SON OR DAUGHTER?
Visits are permitted with prior organization with the Avanza Sports Staff. Visits to the residence will have to be accompanied by the Avanza Residency Manager.
The players will only have permission to leave the premises with a relative or a friend with the written permission of the family at least 48 hours prior to leaving.
During players’ activities, the families will only be allowed to watch, if said activity is open to the public. Training sessions can be watched with prior permission however the school classes are always closed to the public.
ARE THE PLAYERS ALWAYS UNDER SUPERVISION?
Our players are 24/7 under supervision by both Avanza Sports staff and Hamelin-Laie staff. The players will always remain in the Hamelin-Laie premises unless there are activities outside it and they are accompanied.
The players will only have permission to leave the premises with a relative or a friend with the written permission of the family at least 48 hours before leaving.
DOES AVANZA SPORTS HELP THEIR STUDENTS TO GET VISA?
We provide all the information and documents needed to get the visa, but the process has to be carried out by the student’s families throughout Spanish embassies or consulates in their countries.
